    4. Mercury lamp must be on for at least 30 min before being turned off and vice-versa

      If transmitted light is required, turn on the mercury lamp power supply unit (3A) and press ignition (3B)

    3. Transfer your data to the D: drive (Data Storage) or to your external drive and delete it from the local C: driveGet your samples from the microscope
    4. Turn off the computer
    5. If oil objective was used, clean the oil objective it with lens cleaner and lens paperIf fluorescence was used, turn off the mercury lamp power supply unit (3A (not Kimwipes)
    6. Turn off the microscope power bar (2#2)
    7. Wait until the lamps are cool and cover Cover the microscope

    • Files can be saved temporarily (during acquisition) on the local C: drive (desktop)
    • At the end of each session, copy your data to your external drive and delete it from the local C: drive
    • You can store your files on the D: drive (Data Storage). If you do, please create a folder per laboratory using the principal investigator last name. Within, create one folder per user (Firstname_Lastname).
    Remarque

    In any case, your files should be removed from the C: drive.

    The first time you use the instrument, you need to import the microscope settings into the software

    This process will delete all experiment protocols and restore the parameters for the microscopereset the software to the original settings for this specific microscope.

    1. If open, close NIS-Elements and wait until it is completely closed (up to 30 seconds)
    2. On your Desktop open the Softwares folder
    3. Open 
    4. Close NIS-Elements
    5. Wait until the complete closure of NIS-Elements
    6. Open the folder Desktop\Logiciels
    7. Open the software NIS Settings Utility
    8. Click on the Import tab
    9. Click on Browse
    10. Navigate to your desktop Desktop
    11. Select the file Nikon-E600 Settings.bin
    12. Click Select
    13. Select all items
    14. Click Import
    15. Click OK
    16. Close the NIS Settings
    17. Open You can now reopen NIS-Elements

    titleNIS-Elements shows an error: Camera Driver...

    This happens when NIS-Elements does not find the camera. It is usually because the camera is not powered on.

    • Turn off NIS-Elements
    • Turn on the camera (both the microscope power bar and the camera need to be ON
      (the camera is usually ON, the switch on the top of the camera)
    • Check the USB conexion between the camera and is correctly connected to the computer via a USB cable
    • Turn on NIS-Elements
